Pigmentation
Skin pigmentation is caused by:
Sun damage
Inflammation (e.g. acne, eczema)
Chloasma (due to pregnancy and contraceptive pill)
Medical conditions
Melanocyte distribution in the skin (freckles, skin type)
Skin pigmentation increases with age and when you reduce it the skin can look fresher brighter and younger.
Pigmentation increase with sun exposure what ever the cause, so a high SPF sun factor and sun bed avoidance is recommended.
We stock many treatments for skin pigmentation from night treatment creams, serums, day creams with spf protection to a variety of chemical peels.
For severe pigmentation we recommend a chemical peel.
The Dermaceutic Spot peel is designed for local area of problem pigmentation.
The Innovation Concept peel is also designed for significant pigmentation.
A course of 3 TCA Cosmo Peels (easy TCA), or a single deeper Mene & MoyTCA peel is also effective.
A larger number of glycolic peels could also help but this takes a lot longer to achieve a result.
The peel chosen depends on your skin type and the amount of visual peeling you are prepared to have and the practicalities of each treatment.
Dark skins should avoid the TCA peels.
The peels are more effective if they are used with lightening agents, and a skin care package will be recommended if you decide to have a peel. ( The ICP peel includes all the products you need)
